House Sessions, the house-music night led by resident Michael Grey, is back at Icehouse (2528 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis) on Saturday, November 14, from 10 PM to 2 AM. Grey is joined by fellow Twin Cities DJs and curators Alexis Rose and TNA.
The night has an interesting backstory. House Sessions began as a pandemic-era Twitch stream by Michael Grey, then became a live event at Mortimer's featuring Grey and DJ JEN/E. It has since moved to Icehouse, where Grey holds the residency and two guest DJs rotate in each quarter.
The organizers promise "house music for everyone." Expect deep house, disco house, tech house, progressive house, New York, Detroit and Chicago styles, remixes and "so much more." The listing gives the price as $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and it's 21+.
Michael Grey also plays Berlin's Late Night Lounge this Friday, October 9, and First Avenue's Halloween Party on October 31. Busy fall.
